Word Family Activities for Kids

Word Families Magic
1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Special Education

Okay, it's not really magic, but I know your students will think these are pretty awesome.

Note: This blog post contains resources from our TpT store and our Amazon Associate store.

Word Sliders

Simply cut a couple slits in your paper plates - can be dinner size or dessert size.

I just cut a strip of construction paper approximately 12 inches long and 1-1/2 wide.

If you are using this for a larger group or repetitive center work, you may want to use cardstock or laminate your strip.

 Let students decorate the plates!

I love to have students original artwork everywhere.

It does NOT have to be perfect or all the same.

(You may have the avoid the center section for easier reading.)

You will receive two worksheets for 1st grade, ESL or special education students. They coordinate well with early readers, such as Dr. Seuss. Students will color and cut and paste. An answer key is included.
