Your students will love learning about the parts of speech with this fun rap. It would be fun to have students create their own raps as well. The more involved they are the better they will remember.

Do you use interactive notebooks in your classroom? These parts of speech foldable projects are a great way to reinforce these language arts skills. They are high interest. Your students will love them!



Grammar Parts of Speech Teachers Pay Teachers Promoting-Success

Your students are going to love this Halloween themed interactive notebook activity to learn about the parts of speech. Students will define the parts of speech, including nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Students will write Halloween words for each part of speech. They will also practice writing sentences and will identify the parts of speech in each sentence. There are activity ideas for differentiation as well.

 Thanksgiving literacy language arts activities

Each Thanksgiving turkey represents a part of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives or adverbs. Students color, cut and match the Thanksgiving turkey feathers to the correct Turkey. Blank templates are also provided for students to create their own Thanksgiving word lists if desired. Step by step photos and answer keys are included.

You will receive 2 foldable literacy activities. In the first craftivity, students will learn the three main types of verbs: action, linking and helping. There are three ways to differentiate this common core verbs reading activity:

Level 1: Students copy key for practice.

Level 2: Students use the provided word bank.

Level 3: Students brainstorm their own examples.

In the second craftivity, students will use sentences to show the different types of verbs. This activity allows for differentiation as well:

Level 1: Students copy key sentences.

Level 2: Students sort sample sentences.

Level 3: Students create their own sentences.

Lots of photos, directions, and answer keys are provided for your convenience as well.

Task cards are also a great way to get students involved. You can create a scavenger hunt or play a game of SCOOT. Your students will request to play these games again and again.

Here is a fun foldable craftivity for students in 1st or 2nd grade. This activity also works well for ESL, special education and speech therapy. 

Your students will create mini-file books for 14 prepositions. Two blank pages are included to add two more prepositions. They will then match adorable pictures with each word. On the next page, your kids will fill in the blanks on the cloze sentences using prepositional phrases. Average to high learners may write their own sentences with prepositions. An answer key and sentence writing rubric are included.
