Rain in a Jar Experiment ☁️💧

Your students will love watching rain form right before their eyes with this simple but powerful experiment. It’s a great way to demonstrate the water cycle in action!

What You’ll Need:

✔️ A glass jar
✔️ Hot water
✔️ A plate
✔️ Ice cubes

How to Do It:

1️⃣ Pour hot water into the jar (about one-third full).
2️⃣ Place the plate on top of the jar.
3️⃣ Add several ice cubes on the plate and wait.
4️⃣ Watch as water droplets form on the inside of the jar lid and start to fall like rain!

What’s Happening?

Just like in nature, warm air rises and meets cold air, causing condensation and precipitation—just like real rain! This hands-on activity helps students visualize cloud formation and the water cycle.
